Welcome to Mrs. Postelwait's Freshman English Class
Dear Parents, Students, and Future Students:
Welcome to Mrs. Postelwait's Freshman English class. I have been teaching for six years and received my bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 2005. I have taught Pre-AP English 9, On-Level English 9, Integrated 9th and 10th grade English, 10th Grade English, and9th grade ELL. In the summers I score for National Boards Teacher Certification, scoring teacher candidates for NBCT certification. In addition I have sat on test writing and grant-writing committees as well as previously having been an NHS/NJHS sponsor and Assistant Volleyball coach.
In my personal life I am currently working on leveling classes to qualify for the Master's in Speech Language Pathology. I have been married for seven years and I have a three-year-old son, named Xander. I love being outdoors, education, and spending time with my family.
My teaching style is a combination of a traditional classroom and more modern interactive lessons. I like to integrate technology into my lessons and try to create a variety of activities to help my students grasp the skills they need to continue their academic career. Students are expected to use my website to retrieve class activities and/or missing assignments. Students and parents should visit the site for updates on a weekly basis, at minimum. Announcements will be made on the home page including homework assignments, activites, and bonus point opportunitites. Announcements are for both parents and students, but students are expected to begin to take responsibility for their own education.
Thank you for visiting the site and I look forward to seeing you in class. Please don't forget to register so you can receive emails and updates.
Thanks,
Megan Postelwait

1. Your kids did an AMAZING job on our most recent CRT. I couldn't be happier with the results of 100% mastery in some areas, and almost all areas scoring abovet 80% class mastery. Please give them a pat on the back and let them know to keep up the hard work.
